There are two on the Party Pickle.. one on each side. And today I spent some time cleaning them. I thought I'd find rust and might even have to rebuild them as some other Westy owners have had to do.. but for the most part... it was just caked on dirt that came clean with a brillo pad. The screens are all intact and hopefully the weather will cooperate and we'll get to actually open the windows on Father's Day when we head out to Silver Falls State Park.

Also I had a huge breakthrough today with the fiberglass pop top roof on the pickle. It looked dingy and brown with small dark mold spots in it. Well I knew that a bleach/water mixture made a small area nice and white. So today I decided to try the 50/50 mixture on the whole pop top roof. I used a spray bottle and did a little at a time (not sure what bleach would do to the new paint job down below). I used a small stiff brush to work it in, then brushed it with clear water. Then over the course of the next hour, I put three more fine coats of the spray on the roof and as the sun dried it.. Wow! My roof is now all nice and white and looks fantastic. Glad I didn't have to repaint it or anything like that.
You can also see a bigger picture of the driver's side jalousies in this picture.

I was happy to have a comrad in arms as I scraped rust off the wheels and washed the pickle from stem to stern today. Incensed Cedar even picked up a brush to work her magic.

And finally the finished product... complete with a coating of Armour All on the tires. I hope I don't slip off the road on the way to work.
