The screen is designed to snap into place, but the screen didn't come with the snaps already in place, because every bus's snap pattern is a bit different. So Noble Fir help me measure and line up the screen just right.
Of course Ponderosa Pine and Incensed Cedar were there to help. The kit comes with a couple of tools to install the female snaps and once we lined it up we just had to make a little hole in the leather of the screen and put the snaps in, one by one with a hammer.
Noble Fir was like a surgeon and I'd hand her the snap and tools and hammer at just the precise times.
And eventually we got it all finished. Now we can leave the hatch open all night without fear of being eaten alive by the skeeters. All 13 snaps fit like a charm. Next Noble Fir is going to sew up a few holes in my front curtains and we're going to make a side cushion for the spot just over the ice box and storage bin. We bought some genuine Westy material we'll use for the front of it. We'll show you later.

Can this possibly be the same super-star hot shot news dude that I knew so many years ago in Sunny Southern CA?
I must say that I am most impressed with your technical abilities. I love ya man, but I never would have pegged you for a wrench jockey.
It looks that you all have found happiness in your new place, and I'm very happy for you. Maybe I'll make it up there one of these years!
