I've done a lot of work on it and it's running fine. The last step is the gas gauge which I'll save for another post and another day.
Last weekend, my friend Adam called me up and asked if I wanted to watch him and two friends pull the engine out of his 78 Riviera.
"Of course," I said.

That's Adam there and he along with Adam (another one) and Cliff (the Commodore) went to work pulling the "Type 4 Pancake" out of the belly of the beast. It was a lot of bolts and effort and hoses removed, wires cut etc... but after a couple of hours out she came.

It was really cool to see the engine up close and out of the bus so I could get a good look at all the parts.

The hard part is going to be putting it all back together and getting it to work. Glad it's Adam and not me.
His wife makes some mean pickled green beans!
